OH MY GOD LOOK WHAT NIELRIAN DID!!!!!!! (Keels over, falls out of chair.)
I have adored Nielrian and her gorgeous podficcing skills for, literally, years now. I think I’ve listened to everything she’s ever done, sometimes multiple times. When she approached me about maybe doing a podfic of GI, I basically hug-tackled her through the internet, because HOW AMAZING WOULD THAT BE.
And now she’s actually doing it, and I am squeeing all over my office. GI is my baby, and to have it taken into the care of the lovely Nielrian like this is just fucking amazing. So go. Listen! Not even for the story (which you should read because it’s awesome, yo :P) but because of what Nielrian always brings to the stories she podfics: a sense of voice, and place, and sensory immersion into the text beyond what just the written word can do.

So did anyone ever comment on how “We Will Rock You” echoes back to “It’s Time” because of the way both songs can be interpreted as about the space between where a person is now and adulthood and the homemade percussion aspects of how Glee staged/arranged them?
Because there’s Blaine and that very sweet “It’s Time” thing which is less about setting Kurt free and more about retreating away from him into a chilhood Blaine thinks is trivial.
And then there’s the anger/fear/power thing going on in the context/staging for “We Will Rock You” — oh that trivial world you thought you were fading into? Not so fucking far from adulthood kiddos. The things that happen in your lives are big and serious too. And no one notices half the time, and now you’re pissed.
Reblogging, because feels. “It’s Time” grew on me throughout the season as I found new ways to interpret it, and WWRY compelled me ridiculously - the energy, particularly the anger, is palpable, and not the usual sort of thing Glee often does.
And the grit in Blaine’s line will never not give me chills. Between Shooting Star and Lights Out, he’s having a hell of a time here, for all of these reasons.

I continue to believe it won’t be as bad as forecasted. Because I can’t deal with losing power for a week right now. LA LA LA SHUT UP SCIENCE.
My belief that we’re not going to get socked like last year is based entirely on scientific fact and logic. Which is that every time they upsell a storm we get nothing.
And also denial. I need the internet, dammit! I’d even settle for just air conditioning.
